  1. Summer Reading Kickoff: Touch-a-Truck

    June 4, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Madison Public Library

    Summer reading club is for all ages birth through grade 12. Register online today at www.mjcpl.org The kickoff is a chance to pick up reading logs for younger children, teens, and elementary ages who have not received summer challenge booklets from school. All participants doing the ages 3 and up program can pick up their reading necklaces for the beads they will earn during the program. Many vehicles will be on display on Elm Street. A fire truck, ambulance, military vehicle, the Madison Trolley, a motorcycle and more! FREE for everyone in the community. No registration necessary.   2. Young Writers Workshop

    June 4, 4:00 PM @ Madison Public Library

    June 4, 11, 18, 25 July 2, 9. Creative writing guided by Dominique Battles of Hanover College. This program is for kids going into 4th, 5th, or 6th grade. The program is six weeks. Those who finish a story may submit it to be added to the library’s collection. Registration is required. Free. Call 812/265-2744 or go to www.mjcpl.org and click on “Events” to register.

  3. Knitting 101

    June 4, 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM @ Hanover Public Library

    Introduction to knitting class for those who have always wanted to learn to knit! Instructor Pam Sinsel will teach the foundation skills needed to knit a dishcloth, and students will learn about equipment needed to knit, how to read knitting directions, how to "Cast on," the purl stitch, and how to "Bind off" when finished. The class series is six weeks and meets at the Hanover Public Library. Students need to purchase size 7 or 8 straight knitting needles. The Library will provide yarn. Pam Sinsel, instructor.
