COVID-19 Small Business Rescue Fund Grant Recipients Announced

Madison, IN— The City of Madison announced today the first round of the COVID-19 Small Business Rescue Fund grant recipients. Ten small businesses are being awarded grants totaling $88,825. These small businesses selected have shown considerable need due to the direct impact of the COVID-19 crisis and a strong commitment to create and retain low-to-moderate income jobs. Award recipients were selected after careful review from the City of Madison Revolving Loan Committee.

The city is pleased to award the following businesses:

“The COVID-19 pandemic has had a tremendous impact on our community’s health and economy. As you can see, the first round of awards is a cross-section of our small business community. These grants, which fall under the Mobilize Madison Initiative, will provide critical working capital to help these businesses continue to operate and contribute to Madison’s landscape. We appreciate the work of the Madison City Council, our Economic Development Director Matt Wirth, and the Revolving Loan Fund Committee for ensuring these grant dollars were available. We are grateful for Governor Holcomb’s support and partnership with the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA). We anticipate additional rounds as the need is identified,” said Mayor Bob Courtney.

The city is working hard to prepare for round two of this program with a late November to early December targeted launch date. Until then, those interested in the grant program should direct questions to Economic Development Director Matt Wirth at mwirth@madison-in.gov..
