Application for Seasonal Employment

  1. Requirements for ALL applicants:

    - Available to work varying times/shifts including possible weekends and evenings. - Able to work outside. - Provide acceptable forms of ID as required by law.

  2. Seasonal Positions that may be available and requirements for each:

    A) Park Aide: Maintenance and upkeep of Parks and Golf Courses. - Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. - Walk distances while operating a mower or weed eater. - Spend prolonged period of time bending, stretching, standing and walking. - Able to work outdoors. - Must be 16 years of age or older. B) Recreation Aide: Participate and lead recreational activities at a recreational center. - Work with children of various ages and diverse backgrounds. - Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. - equipment, supplies, etc. - Able to teach crafts, games, or other recreational activities. - Must be 16 years of age or older. C) Concessions/Cashier: Perform cashier work at pools or concession stands. - Able to spend prolonged periods of time sitting or standing. - Able to learn to operate a keyboard or cash register. - Must be able to communicate with the public. - Able to do food prep under Board of Health guidelines. - Must be 14 years of age or older. D) Lifeguard/Swim Instructor: Oversee swimming pools to insure a safe and sanitary enviroment. - Possess and maintain lifeguard certification, CPR, and First Aid. - Able to observe swimmers for safety and sit for prolonged periods of time. - Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations. - Able to exercise tact and diplomacy when interacting with the public. - Knowledgeable of the sport of swimming. - Must be 16 years of age or older. E) Youth Sports Official/Referee. Umpire & Scorekeeper: - Able to spend prolonged time standing, sitting or running. - Must be able to communicate with the public. - Must be knowledgeable of the sport. - Must be able to accept criticism. - Must exercise tact and diplomacy when interacting with the public. - Must be able to operate electronic scoreboard equipment. - Must be able to keep accurate score sheet. - Must be 14 years of age or older.
