Madrigal
Dinner
A Madrigal Dinner or Madrigal
Feast is an American form of dinner theater often held by
schools and church groups during the Christmas season. It is set in
the Middle Ages and is generally comedic in nature. The meal is divided
into courses, each of which is heralded with a traditional song. A play
is performed between the courses and a concert of choral music concludes
the festivities.
The dinner will be November 22, 2008
at 6:30 PM. Cost is $125 per couple or $75 per person. Select
your costume, grab your significant other and join us for a night of
dinner an entertainment to jump start the Christmas season. Location
will be announced later.
Santa
Claus & Mayor to Deliver Christmas Tree
November 29th

Tim Armstrong, Mayor
of Madison, will be selecting a Christmas tree for the city from a local
citizen. If you have a tree that you would like to submit for
consideration, please contact Tammy Boldery at 265-8300 to schedule
an appointment for the Mayor to visit.
Please keep in mind that
the tree selected should be at least 20 feet but no more than 30 feet
in height.

Madison
Enjoy
a day of shopping, carolers and the ambiance of the Christmas season
in downtown Madison. A great day for all, which will conclude
with the lighting of the City Christmas Tree

your letter to Santa at the special Mailbox On Broadway
- Children's
Christmas Ornament Class - 11:00 AM & PM & 3:00 PM
Let your child create their own
ornament as a gift or to keep. There will be three classes for
children age 10 and older. Classes will be at "All Ways Pottery".
Cost is $10 per person which includes choice of ornament, paint and
firing. Reservations must be made. Call 265-8300 to reserve
your spot. Parents may join their children or enjoy shopping or
a movie while classes are in session.
- Gingerbread
House Class - 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM
A keepsake for years to come.
Two classes are available for children ages 10 and up to make their
own gingerbread house. Classes will be at the "Senior Citizens"
building on Main Street. Cost is $15.00 per person. This
includes all materials needed to construct the house. Reservations
must be made. Call 265-8300 to reserve your spot. Parents
may join their children or enjoy shopping or a movie while classes are
in session.

Santa comes to town!!! Enjoy
our Annual Christmas Parade beginning at 4:00 PM on December 6th.
Watch the little ones anticipate Santa's arrival!

Up Madison - 5:30 PM
Join Santa and the Mayor on Broadway
to watch the City illuminate with lights at 5:30. Enjoy the sights
and sounds of Christmas in our wonderful downtown.

Past Events
Hot August Cruise-In
Main Street's Car Show
Madison's Main Street will be revved up as hundreds of classic autos and street rods
roll into town for the Hot August Cruise-In provided by the Madison AutoCare Group and
The Madison Business and Professional Association,
From 1pm til 9pm August 9 2008.
Classic Cars will be parked from Jefferson Street to Broadway
as well as adjacent side streets.
Organizers expect nearly 500 or more entries.
The event is free and open to the publicand will be held rain or shine.
Show car entry fee is $5 plus 4 cans of food to be donated to The Salvation Army of Madison Charities.
Mayor Tim Armstrong will present the keys for a 2008 Chevrolet HHR decorated for the
Hot August Cruise-In.
Cost of the car raffle tickets is $10 each.
They are available at Fine Threads, Wanda's Gifts, Madison Auto Service, Madison Mercantile,
and many local stores city wide, as well as Madison City Hall.
Downtown streets will be blocked off for the giant party -
featuring live music, street dancing, family friendly movies and lots of suprises.
Eateries will offer specials and discounts.
A variety of refreshments will be sold at outdoor booths.
Store owners are planning specials and sales.
Many Trophies will be awarded and dash plaques are reserved for the first 200 cars to be entered.
All proceeds will be donated to The Madison Beautification Program and
The Salvation Army of Madison.
