Aviation Board

The Madison Board of Aviation Commissioners (BOAC) is the local statutory authority that oversees the approval and regulation of civil aviation. Our city is home to the Madison Municipal Airport, which features a runway that is 5,000-ft by 75-ft with a 1,400-ft medium intensity approach lighting system and plays host to a number of flights from small, private planes to larger, chartered business flights.

Aviation is very important to our local community. The airport handles nearly 13,000 takeoffs and landings each year, contributing to our community in the sectors of business, sport, agriculture, recreation, and more.
