Flood Mitigation
On June 19th, 2021 the areas of North Walnut Street, Moody Park, SaddleTree Lane and Spring Street reported flooding in the roadway. Arriving city fire department units found the water was not only in the roadway, but was in fact nearly 5’ deep in some places. Central Dispatch started receiving several reports of residents in need of assistance in evacuating. Through partnership with local organizations such as the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, and more, recovery efforts have been established and ongoing for the impacted residents since the event transpired.
