Resilient Jefferson County is a coalition of community members whose mission is to transform our community and the health of future generations by becoming trauma-informed and preventing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County

Investing in Jefferson County for over 30 Years. Since 1991, the Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County has worked with charitably minded people and organizations to strengthen Jefferson County, Indiana. Their mission is to build a strong, vibrant community by helping donors provide perpetual funding for the people, projects and passions of Jefferson County by building relationships with passionate individuals, generous families, prudent professional advisors, innovative nonprofits and benevolent businesses to create long lasting change.

Madison Chamber and Industrial Development

The Madison Area Chamber of Commerce is a one-stop shop for anyone looking to connect with our community. A strong chamber of commerce equates to a vibrant business climate and a secure community. The Madison Area Chamber of Commerce has grown to represent the interests of over 300 area businesses. The Chamber is a place for all who share in the desire to improve the community and the conditions under which business is conducted. It directs the energies of those who believe that a community worth living in is a community worth improving.

Madison Main Street

The National Trust for Historic Preservation began its national Main Street movement in 1979, with Madison as one of three pilot communities. Madison Main Street is a team of residents, business owners, property owners, and civic leaders working together to ensure that downtown Madison is a vibrant place to live, work, shop, dine, visit, and play. Madison Main Street is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization designated by Indiana Main Street and accredited by the National Main Street Center. Madison is one of more than 1,200 Main Street communities across the country with the common goal of preserving America’s historic downtown as economically vital centers of the community.​

Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter
The shelter is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-5, and Saturdays from 12-4. If you would like to schedule a meet and greet, you can call 812-273-1788.
