COED T-BALL RETURNS TO MADISON PARKS AND RECREATION

Madison, Indiana (January 24, 2025) Madison Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the return of our coed T-ball League! This program, designed for children ages 4-6, introduces young athletes to the fundamentals of baseball and softball in a fun and supportive environment.

In addition to the return of T-ball, Madison Parks and Recreation will also offer youth baseball and softball programs for older children. A Rookie League will be available for kids ages 7 to 10, with skill-level-based instruction emphasizing fun and growth. For children ages 10 and older, Minor League Baseball and Softball will provide opportunities for scrimmages and skill development in an instructional setting. The Major League will offer a similar format for participants ages 12 and up, focusing on advanced skill-building through scrimmages rather than official games.

"We're thrilled to expand our programming to include options for children of all skill levels and ages," said Madison Parks and Recreation Athletic Program Coordinator Whitney Burdzilauskas. "Our leagues focus on teaching the fundamentals of baseball and softball while fostering teamwork and confidence in a positive and supportive atmosphere."

"The return of T-ball and the addition of these leagues are a great opportunity for children in Madison to build skills, create memories, and have fun. Youth sports are an important part of our community, and I'm thrilled to see these programs offered," said Madison's Mayor Bob Courtney.

Practices for all leagues will begin the week of May 2, 2025, with schedules determined based on the number of teams and available coaches. Each participant will receive a team t-shirt and baseball cap to kick off the season. Registration is $25, and families can register online at madison-in.gov/summersports. Families with children outside the recommended age range are encouraged to contact Whitney Burdzilauskas at wburdzilauskas@madison-in.gov to discuss enrollment options. Those interested in coaching are also encouraged to reach out to Whitney.
