Main Street Master Plan Project

Project Summary: An outcome of a comprehensive study conducted in 2020, the Main Street Master Plan has been thoughtfully developed to simultaneously calm traffic, increase the safety of pedestrians, boost the historic character of the street, and replace/repair infrastructure ad drainage issues. Due to the large scale of this project, it has been broken up into 4 phases: Striping, the section of Main Street from Hanover Hill (HWY 62) to Macintire Street, the section of Main Street from Macintire Street to Broadway Street, and the section of Main Street from Broadway Street to Jefferson Street. The City of Madison is applying for federal funding phases as our funds allow.
Phase 1:
Location: Main Street from the top of Hanover Hill (State Rd 62) to McIntire Street.
Project Summary: Funded in part by a 2026 Federal Grant, this phase will __________

Phase 2:
Location: Main Street from McIntire Street to Mill Street.

Estimated Costs: When completed, the project is estimated to be near $25 million.
Funding Sources: Federal Highway Grant, Main Street Fund (80/20 match). The City of Madison is applying for these federal funding phases as our funds allow.
